Transportation system of Zurich
The city of Zurich has a very well arranged transportation system. Zurich airport also known as Kloten airport is the largest and busiest international airport of the country which is located about 8 miles north of the central Zurich.
The airport is also hub for Swiss International Air Lines was established in around 1946 as a replacement of Dubendorf Air base. In 1984, an agreement was made regarding noise charge instituted in 1980, in which arrival and departure via German airspace was included. In 1999 federal parliament agreed on privatization of the Zurich airport. That was a very important decision in the history of the airport.
The airport has three airside piers named as terminals A, B and E, are linked to a central airside building, Airside Center. Zurich Airport also has complex names as Airport Center which is facilitated with bus terminal, shopping mall, check-in areas, car parking and a railways station.
